Ready For A Break

I am all caught up with all of my previously unfinished projects! I finished both the big hexagon quilt and the little scrappy vintage quilt that I began at the last Chicago Modern Quilt Retreat. And I finally finished the Geometric Block quilt, too.

Now I'm ready for a bit of a break, and to try something a little different. I plan on cutting out little 1" hexi paper pieces at tonight's Chicago Stitch, Bitch, & Brew July meet-up, and I hope to get a few hexi paper piecing tips from Holly (she is like a hexi paper piecing NINJA!). That's right, I am going to do a little hand sewing with some hexi's!

I knew I had some scraps to play with, but didn't realize how PACKED FULL my scrap bin was. Plenty to choose from, so I will pick out some fun scraps and am going to spend a week or two paper piecing 1" hexi's. Not really sure what I will make from them, or even how many I will make, I just know I'm ready for something a little different!

So tell me - what is your favorite project for using paper pieced hexi's?

There's a LOT of 1 inch hexies in that big pile of scraps!
(I've only made hexies, never actually used them.)
