Go, momma, GO!

My hubby and I just finished restoring a vintage push toy for Fidget!

I've seen a few of these lately, but this is the first one I found that was in decent shape and sturdy enough to actually use. Tom took the whole thing apart, repainted everything and completely replaced all the hardware (including the wheels) with all new parts.

The foot rest under the scooter is removable so that the child can "flintstone" power the toy by themselves.

The push handle is also removable. Oh, and Tom added the horn to the handles; it's LOUD and makes a greak squeaka-squeaka sound! We took it for a test drive today, it's a hit:

I thought that tray would be awesome for holding snacky snacks, but it turns out to be a great place to store all your treasures, too! What I intended as a quick walk in front of the house turned into a walk all the way around the block. Safe to say we're going to have lots of fun walking together this summer!

Oh, by the way, do you have any idea about a date on this push toy? I can't find any similar pictures out there, and I don't even know if you'd call this a car or a scooter! What do you think?

EDITED: to say THANKS to BomshellShocked for passing on that link to http://wishbookweb.com/ where I found our walker/scooter in the 1947 Sears Christmas catalog! Here it is in the bottom left corner - it is the EXACT same scooter!
