Color Workshop with Salt Creek Quilters in September
Announcing a color lecture and transparency workshop for quilters coming this fall! I'm super-excited for these events and can't wait to geek out about color with y'all.
Join me as the Salt Creek Quilters Guild of Western Springs, IL, hosts a day-long workshop focused on learning how to use color to create the illusion of transparency in patchwork with fabrics. The day-long workshop is scheduled for Friday, September 12. Find the link to Salt Creek Quilters events page here for more information.
I'm also visiting Salt Creek Quilters with a trunk show and lecture on the evening of Thursday, September 11, to discuss how color has affected my work over the past decade. This will be a brand-new lecture where I share my journey with color, what I've learned about using color as a fiber artist along the way, how I specifically use color in my work, and examples of all my quilt work (work not currently on exhibit) from the past 10+ years. To learn about the lecture, click here!
These events are open to anyone (after an initial registration period for members). This is a great opportunity to learn about a different way to approach color. Where most information about color for quilters (books, products, color wheels, lectures, classes, workshops) centers around using a limited and outdated system created by painters over 100 years ago (that does not represent "all the colors"), you'll learn how to approach color in the context of how you "see it". I hope to meet some of you there!
