Inspiration: Postage Stamps
I rediscovered some stamps I had collected in a box while organizing over the weekend.
Wouldn't this stamp make an excellent quilt block? I think a quilt with "LOVE" blocks stitched up from all different colors would be awesome!
These stamps were in a pack that I thrifted a few years ago. I really like the way some of these older stamps were printed - just check out all the lines that were used to create this portrait:
My dad collected stamps when I was in grade school, and it was something that we did together. Dad started me off with my very own stamp binder and a few tools of my own, and every so often we'd make a trip to the stamp store where I could pick out a pack of stamps for my collection. I was never into collecting stamps that were rare or valuable, it was all about the wonderful pictures on the stamps and the little stories they told.

I'm not really sure what I'm going to do with these stamps, and my old stamp collecting stuff is all packed away in storage. For now, I'm content just to look at them every once in awhile, you know, for inspiration!
