Summer Class Offerings!
Summer is right around the corner, and I'm offering a handful of classes and workshops via the Evanston Art Center. Sign-ups are open, and space is limited! (Find links in descriptions below to register.)
THE ART OF SEEING COLOR
In this one-day, hands-on workshop, discover how the painter’s color wheel was created to inform color harmony, and how to move beyond the wheel to find your own appreciation for color choices. Students will learn the history of color systems through the ages, how the 3-pigment primary color system was developed, and how human color perception affects the colors you see. Each concept in class is supported with hands-on exercises using colored paper and class discussion, creating multiple examples to take home and study.
The Art of Seeing Color workshop at Evanston Art Center:
Beginners welcome, open to all skill levels.
Sunday, June 21st from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM (with one hour for lunch).
PLAYING WITH COLOR ( Exploring the color exercises of Josef Albers)
In this weekly class, explore the playful, hands-on color experiments from the world of artist and educator Josef Albers. Each week will focus on one of Albers' specific experiments following his unique inductive approach, allowing students to discover singular properties of color and human perception. Everyone curious about color is welcome! Meeting Monday mornings from 10:00 AM to NOON for 12 weeks.
