Sewing Yo-Yo Flower Pins

These are little yo-yo flower gifts I'm making for some friends and family.

So, I've been stitching these up this week, enjoying the hand sewing on the couch after dinner while hubs watches the Netflix and the kiddo is asleep. The fabrics are all new, but the buttons are vintage.

I really enjoy how hand sewing makes you slow down and appreciate everything about the sewing process...the thread, the needle, the fabric...

I finished the back with a small circle of heavyweight interfacing and green felt, inserting a safety pin through small slits to make it a pin.

They stitch up so fast it is kind of an addicting craft - so before you try making one, be warned - you might end up stitching a whole bunch of flower pins!
