Simple Half Square Triangle Patchwork

 

I've got a quick tip to share for making easy half-square triangle patchwork blocks. This is the method I've used to create quilts based on HST's, like the Union Square Big Block quilt above.

This is also the method I used when creating these color harmony sampler blocks.

Try this method for any patchwork design that uses lots of HST's. I shared a simple tutorial that covers the basics to create fast HST's with BERNINA's WeAllSew blog, find the tip here! All you need is a rotary cutter, mat, ruler, and a way to mark your fabric (I use a tracing wheel but a fabric marking pen or pencil will also work).
