Adding Texture and Color to Fabric
I'm sharing a simple tutorial with BERNINA to add texture and color to any fabric using the stitches in your sewing machine. Click over to read about How to Create Surface Design With Stitches at the WeAllSew blog.
I share some simple tips in the tutorial for this technique, including the best tools to help you evenly space the stitches.
This technique is a fun way to add a bit of color and texture to your fabric; I once stitched all over one yard of fabric to create custom fabric to turn into a corset! You can use this technique to add to cuffs, collars, pockets, or small projects like zip pouches. Even if your machine only includes simple straight and zigzag stitches, you can still vary the placement and thread color in your stitches to get some nice results.
