Convertible Tote Bag
Find a link below to make your own convertible apron-tote!
This summer my garden was overflowing with all kinds of veg and flowers! Daily pickings were more than a handful, and I wanted a bag to help hold the harvest. I noticed a regular tote bag would swing around when I was leaning over plants to pick ripe veg. A big pocket apron was a bit better, but not big enough to hold the bumper crop of cukes coming off the vine. I thought it would be perfect to have a bag as big as a tote that could be secured around the waist like an apron.
So I made one!
Meet the "Garden Harvest Apron Tote" with convertible straps! Tie the handles long to be a shoulder bag, tie the handles shorter to be a tote, wrap the side ties around your waist to hold the bag steady while harvesting, and secure the side ties with a decorative knot or bow through the front loops when not in use.
I even found a way to tie the handles across both shoulders to wear it like overalls - very comfy for carrying heavy loads.
I shared a free tutorial to make the Garden Harvest Apron Tote at BERNINA's WeAllSew blog and you can find it HERE. Enjoy the freebie!
